I get a "not secure" warning because the useless uptime button link is using HTTP only.

http://btn.siteuptime.com/genbutton....c=blue&p=total

But otherwise everything is working okay.

When I block images from btn.siteuptime.com then I can get served pages without the "not secure" warning. So the problem is now solved for me.

We went through our "styles" and replaced absolute HTTP links with relative links. And we removed the uptime image.

Our testing shows the "lock icon" on every page now.

Please let us know if you find a page that has an "open lock" icon.

Since the switch to https Firefox doesn't cache pages any more, so if I alt-leftarrow (or click the back button) it re-fetches the page. Which is slow. And if I did a search, read a result, then went back it will probably re-run the search (I've not tested this).

I can get round it by shift-clicking links to open then in a new window, then closing windows to go back, but that's a bit clumsy.

Thanks Mike.

For those of us who sometimes do something along the lines of open heart surgery while the patient is running a marathon, it's not always stress free.

But when it works it's kinda cool....

I worked at a place that had a project that was described very similar to that. It was voted by a group in the know as one of the top ten (or 20, but it was in the top ten) projects of the 20th Century.

You've mentioned that before. Can you give any more details? Perspiring minds want to know!
