Default msieve polsel trouble on GTX1080Ti

Has anyone seen this message, and have you any idea how to fix it?

I tried updating to the most recent SVN and building, but I still get the 'a PTX JIT compilation failed' message, though now at (sort_engine.cu:163)

Which CUDA toolkit version and GPU compute capability is this? It's possible the compile arguments need tweaking for compute capability > 5.0

It's also possible I need to update the source of the CUB library for latter-day cards, there have been new version releases since February.

ETA: with the 9.0 toolkit we may have to remove attempts to load the SM 2.0 PTX code, as I think support for compute capability 2.0 is removed now.

This is toolkit version

Code:
pineapple@pineapple:/scratch/L2675A$ /usr/local/cuda-8.0/bin/nvcc --version
nvcc: NVIDIA (R) Cuda compiler driver
Copyright (c) 2005-2016 NVIDIA Corporation
Built on Tue_Jan_10_13:22:03_CST_2017
Cuda compilation tools, release 8.0, V8.0.61
Is compute capability the thing read out as
Code:
selected card has CUDA arch 6.1
I notice that, after the upgrade to 8.0, the binary that worked fine under 7.5 on my GTX1080 non-Ti is misbehaving the same way.

Arranging to build cub only for sm=5.2 doesn't seem to have helped.
