An amateur astronomer captured the outburst of a supernova in another galaxy in a series of photos- this article has a GIF of the images over 90 minutes as the supernova becomes visible. Just incredible- I've looked at plenty of supernovae in other galaxies, and always wondered how fast one of these would brighten.

There seem to be several objects changing brightness. Which arm, what quadrant should I be looking at?
