A counting problem

The bank in the local supermarket I was in today had a contest question:

What is the 38th Mersenne Prime?

Just kidding. It was to count the total number of gifts received from the true love in The 12 Days of Christmas. I won because I knew about Euler-Maclaurin summation, the other winner was told the answer by her husband.

The moral of the story: know math, win chocolate.
