Default Noob Question

OK. I've searched, I've read FAQs, I've read "Read This First", and I can't find the answer to this simple question:
What are the CPU credits good for?
Are they just bragging rights? Do they factor into which assignments I get? Do they earn free tickets for the Nigerian Lottery?
What's up with the credits?

They are just for bragging rights.
And they earn free tickets for the Nigerian Lottery.

They are for bragging shagging rights. If you print your CPU credits number on a t-shirt1 then all the girls [Added in edit: ITYM MOTAS. HTH. HAND.] will want to be with you.

1 Naturally you also have to wear the t-shirt2 for this to be effective.

2 And you also have to go to places where there are girls while wearing the t-shirt for this to be effective.

Note: Individual results may vary depending upon other external factors not discussed here.

To some extent, they are also a measure of the amount of work done. So for example, if I run P1 factoring on an 84,XXX,XXX candidate and find a factor, it only gives ~3.0 Ghz days of credit, but saves the project ~525 Ghz days of credit for LL tests that no longer need to be run.

So it is best for the project to minimize Ghz day credit by eliminating candidates in the most cost-effective ways (least amount of work) possible, but credit will be given for whatever work you can and are willing to contribute.

Since I've already won the NL three or four times I guess it's really just the bragging rights.
And I'm already married so I gave up on shagging years ago.

My sincere condolences.

As I tell SWMBO, "marriage" isn't a word it's a sentence.

However, just because you're on a diet doesn't mean you can't look at the menu. I hear the phrase "nice firm buttocks" from her every now and again. I tend to respond with "huge tracts of land".

Are you testing for stability? Or for performance? For non-AVX2?
