I had a friend in school who swore he was allergic to mathematical equations. Hopefully you aren't having a late onset of his affliction. And hope the good doctors get it figured out soon, so that you know what to avoid.

A co-worker of mine (and a friend) is retiring and I won't be here for his going away party (due to a scheduled vacation). The saddest part is that he will be moving out of the area. He and his wife (also retired) will be travelling the country in an RV and probably won't be returning to this area anytime soon.

My grandmother (in Brazil) passed away 4 hours ago. That's life. The 1920-1930 generation is dying...

Living in the Caribbean means I pay a lot of attention to the weather during "Hurricane Season". While I refer to many different sources (since chaotic systems are impossible to predict well) my "go to" source is Weather Underground's wealth of reports and models, and its "Wundermap".

While hurricane Irma is not expected to impact Barbados much (it is going to pass far north of us), this might not true of the "Leeward Islands", and then possibly the US of A. Please see the above links, and these two articles.

Simple economics. If you owe a lot to something you pay attention to it. If something owes you nothing it doesn't pay attention.

I've had enough with these mother-nature snakes ~~on the mother-nature plane~~ in my potato garden!

They don't just come out at spring anymore.

That's when snake handling tongs will come in handy.
