Ouch! It must be a huge facility if you are biking around. I strongly urge putting cold packs on the knee, especially early on. Consider it a drug-free anti-inflammatory. It really decreases pain and discomfort from trauma for me.

Just make sure you let it heal rather than using it straight away. Otherwise it may linger for years.

My ASUS HD7950 graphics card is acting up again. One of the two fans is making unhappy noises (and sometimes completely stops rotating). Unfortunately, this is the second time this happened. The first time the card was still under warranty and I received a replacement from RMA. I run the two fans run at 1900-2000 rpm, which isn't that high, so I don't understand why they keep failing after 1-2 years. Bad fan design maybe?

The voltage dro(o)p on this card might also be causing the occasional driver crash issues with high loads (games are OK, but mfakto and especially CLlucas)

1200mV set in Afterburner
1191mV according to GPU-Z with no load
1172mV with light load
1154mV with 99% load

So, my Internet Service Provider decided to do a massive unscheduled "upgrade" yesterday. About a quarter of the country was without telephony for about six hours, and without Internet for about 21 hours.

This started at about 0800 local time, and we were back online at about 0300 the following day. Trust Clueless and Worthless (C&W) Barbados to do this without any public notice on Mother's Day (yeah, I know that C&W no longer own the Barbados telephony and internet provider, but their attitude towards their customers continues).

Their "help desk" (based in Jamaica) couldn't even access the systems in Barbados to log reports or issue trouble tickets, and later in the day simply stopped answering calls.

Sigh... It can be difficult living in "paradise". Thank you for tolerating my rant.

I realize that this reference is to US Ebay, but it is an example:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...0+directcu+fan
I have gotten replacement fans for a DirectCU card, though that was for a GTX 580. There are also Asian parts houses which have such things. Getting the brand and part number of the fan itself can help a lot.

You also might be able to oil the sick fan. The common advice is to drill through the center of the hub to reach the bearing. I have found that this does not work in some situations. I have an oil container with a long plastic tube built in. I cases where drilling does not access the bearing, I have been able to run the tube alongside of the wires going to the motor, and get oil to the right place. It has taken a while for the oil to penetrate, but don't overdo it.

The landscape crew hired by building management were here today. I heard them, but did not pay much attention. Then I went downstairs and found that they had weed-whacked the two or three inch shoot from an elephant ear bulb I had planted down to the ground.
Lazy, irresponsible mofos.

Case manufacturers are starting to incorporate air filtration into their designs. I bought one earlier this month which has a washable filter, and mounting points for two 120mm fans, behind the front cover.
