Hi Paul,

I always receive a text message from my GP when an appointment is booked and a remainder on the day before.
Hope everything sorts out for you.

Today I'll be seen the surgeon, let's see what he has to say.

I'm thinking of trying homeopathic treatments, starting with homeopathic exercise, homeopathic work and homeopathic salad. If results show promise I'll progress to homeopathic charitable donations and homeopathic sobriety.

This series of posts is possibly the most British posts I've seen on this forum.

Here's hoping you find the cause, Paul. I wouldn't like the mystery.

This brought to mind the following from The Devil's Dictionary (a counter to the excessively British character of this thread)

DAWN, n. The time when men of reason go to bed. Certain old men prefer to rise at about that time, taking a cold bath and a long walk with an empty stomach, and otherwise mortifying the flesh. They then point with pride to these practices as the cause of their sturdy health and ripe years; the truth being that they are hearty and old, not because of their habits, but in spite of them. The reason we find only robust persons doing this thing is that it has killed all the others who have tried it.

I'm thinking of trying homeopathic treatments, starting with homeopathic exercise, homeopathic work and homeopathic salad. If results show promise I'll progress to homeopathic charitable donations and homeopathic sobriety.

Bierce strikes again:

HOMOEOPATHY, n. A school of medicine midway between Allopathy and Christian Science. To the last both the others are distinctly inferior, for Christian Science will cure imaginary diseases, and they can not.

LOL. Seriously though, taking walks is good. Our bodies are ageing. Entropy is not on our side.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Hope you find out what is wrong with you. At least I know I am moving to a city with an effective A+E at least for heart issues. Might have to watch the GP surgeries though.

So you are proposing to proceed homeopathetically?

Compared to the other discomforts in this thread my wisdom tooth pain is a mild nuisance. The pain should subside in a few days as the tooth pushes the gums aside. If the pain gets worse, than it could be infected and will have to be removed immediately. There is a big chance that the tooth will have to be removed anyway.

Having been there and done that...

With a skilled practitioner this can be done with minimal pain killers.

You will feel the pain, but interestingly it drops into a box, which you can then examine. "Ow! That hurts! Hmmm... Interesting!"

Taking modern pain killers is not a good idea (although many do it).

I had local anesthetics (my dad is pretty strongly against the use of general anesthesia except where absolutely necessary) to get my wisdom teeth removed, and I could not feel a thing for hours, yet was absolutely awake and quite interested-ly examining the removed teeth. All in all a somewhat fun experience, all things considered. Didn't even have any lingering pain (took Motrin at first, but after several hours forgot to take a third dose and didn't even notice I forgot til the next day... though I also forgot the antibiotics. oops)
