There have been no code changes, and very few expiries, so I would be interested in figuring out what went on. Edit: One parameter change which occurred recently was keeping Candidates in the 82M range TF'ed to 76 for P-1'ing by GPU72'ers. Could this explain at least part of what you observed? Indeed it might. The exponents are finished so there's no problem posting them. As I think about it, there were really 3 exponents, with the top one repeated. A clumsy double paste, I suppose. The Not Needed involved that accidental duplicate.
I had not thought about retaining TF'd candidates for P-1. As I discovered, my non-duplicate work was duly noted on the Status page. I guess I was just surprised by the change in the displayed results and missed the obvious notation. 83325383 83325373 83325353 As to the "one of your DCs was completed blah blah....." message, I am not sure what was going on then. I am having trouble reconstructing what was actually displayed, but I think I only had four assignments at the time. It was a recent acquisition which I hadn't touched. The strange thing was that it did not seem to show signs of being completed on GIMPS Status page. As I mentioned elsewhere, I had an attack of severe instability recently. I have no idea what may have been bollixed by all those BSODs. I am finding Single channel to be less than half the speed under Dual: 5.9 ms versus 2.7, give or take a bit on either number. Hey all.
Just a heads up... I'm in the process of setting up a new server for GPU72.com. It should be quite a bit faster. However, there will be a bit of downtime; perhaps an hour or so while the database tables are migrated. So, if you see a message when accessing the site saying "Server down for maintenance", and/or any proxied Prime95/mprime clients return an error, and/or MISFIT et al don't get assignments, you'll know why. Once this has been completed I'll have the old server talk to the new server's database while the DNS transition propagates. I'll post here again about an hour before I start the transition (it might be later today, or else on Sunday), but if any of you want to grab some extra assignments now it wouldn't hurt. |

OK, the data and code transfers appear to be going well, so I'm going to give it a try at about 2210 UTC.

The old server is now using the new server's DB server. I'll start the DNS transition tomorrow. Edit: Please let me know if anyone sees anything strange. Operations like this are wide open for stupid mistakes. Last fiddled with by chalsall on 2017-03-24 at 23:05 |

My TF assignments are displayed normally, but my LLDC assignments, of which I have 2, are no longer shown.

Hmmm... Thanks for the report. What I did is set up a 500 rewrite rule to give that message any time a script crashed, and intentionally added a bug to a Perl module included from every page while I moved the database.
What this error turns out to be is I migrated from MySQL to MariaDB during the transition. MariaDB is supposed to be a "drop-in" replacement, but of course it isn't entirely -- turns out "Range" is now a "reserved word", and I used it as the name of a column that report queries. I'm currently monitoring the log files, and will fix these incompatibilities as I see them. |
