This week I found out that I have gallstones. My last severe biliary colic was on Christmas Day although I previous had one case per month since August until last December. Until I had this results I thought my issues were related to indigestion so I cut on almost everything and increased my Mediterranean diet. Gallstones is genetic, my mother had them, father and grandmother too.

Severe pain can last between 4-6 hours and thank God didn't have another one since last December.

Anyway, next step is going to a surgeon to understand if I need surgery, probably will, just hope the waiting list is not too long for it.

BTW, I'm very afraid of this surgery.

Don't be afraid of the surgery. My dad had it done nearly 20 years ago, and he spent exactly one night in the hospital purely as a precaution. I think many places can do it as outpatient surgery (meaning no hospital stay at all). Hope everything goes well when the time comes!

Best wishes, Carlos. Our friend had hers removed laproscopically and was out of the hospital the same day. She made a quick, full recovery.

There are numerous YouTube videos showing laproscopic gallbladder removals if you wish to look in advance.

It wouldn't. It's a red-meat-for-the-base type of thing.

Your currency does have "In God we Trust" on it. It is also your official national motto.

Which god you trust isn't, however, defined.

Default Causation vs correlation

People keep telling me that I should get out more and, for that matter, get more exercise. So I walked ~1mile (~1.5km in the civilized world) to the local health centre for an appointment to review my medication. On arrival the computer system told me I was an unexpected visitor. The human reception agreed with the computer but also went off to consult with other staff. The consensus emerged that my appointment had been made three weeks earlier but had then gone AWOL somewhere in the system.

While waiting the results of the investigations I developed severe chest pains. Cue ECG, two doses of GTN, blood pressure readings etc while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. More ECG, GTN, aspirin, etc in the ambulance. On arrival at Addenbrooke's ED I was seen very promptly and given another ECG, a chest X-ray, blood samples taken and other investigations. All very professional indeed. I then had to wait six hours (clinically justified so absolutely no complaints from me) for a repeat troponin blood test. That was also clear and I was discharged just under 9 hours after the initial symptoms presented themselves.

Still not known what caused the symptoms. I blame our cats, entirely because I blame the cats for almost everything. What's the point of keeping cats if you can't blame them for things?

Observation: taking moderate exercise was followed by nine hours hospitalization.

Compelling evidence that exercise is indeed bad for you. I hope you learned your lesson, young man!
