Please let me know the details of your machine --- architecture, operating system and, especially, the machine's GUID. You will find the latter in the file processors/config.txt Mail them to paul@nfsnet.org and I'll see what I can find out. Paul |

Check to see that you haven't run out of disk space. There are multiple subprojects for the current project and each one requires enough room for a factor base file.
I had this problem yesterday when my machine switched to a new subproject. If you are low on disk space, go to the projects directory underneath your NFSNET client installation directory and remove all directorys for 5_304P (and earlier projects if they are listed there). Leave the directory called pool as is. Then restart the client. You'll get idle assignments for a few hours until the server resets your status and then you'll be back in business. -Don Leclair |

Hi,
Port 80, the standard HTTP port, is the only port that is required to be open and open for outgoing connections only. So if you can surf the web then the NFSNET client should be able to connect to the servers and get assignments. There are some firewall applications that block on an application-by-application basis instead of blocking selected ports to all applications. If you can get your firewall to allow 'nfsnetclient' to make outgoing requests on port 80 then all should be well. -Don Leclair |
