Seriously, I read in the theinquirer.net, http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=19089, that the P4 will not come out with a 4GHz version. The P4 is dead for more more GHz. The roadmap doesn't seem to disagree.

Big whoop. It's still the sucky Prescott core. And it isn't getting any faster. The only difference is that it'll be able to use 8GB of memory.

I guess that might be useful for P-1.

I got a 3.4 Ghz Intel P4 w/ EMT64 cheap from Dell. W/ one 1Gb of memory it was only $600 something. The base for this 3.4 processor was only around $500, but I did some upgrades :)

How long until I can get a 64 bit enabled p95? Would that speed things up much? Or only for big numbers? Or maybe just allow me to do bigger numbers. Would it help doing p-1 or ecm on some of the bigger fermat numbers?
