Any estimate on the number of students that have their personal computers running GIMPS software?
Are you concerned about the New Madrid fault complex?

Which is the next exponent, which will produce the 50th Mersenne prime number? (honestly :-), or at least the best estimate )

There are hundreds of thousands of double-check candidates below M49. It would not be surprising if "M50" (not its true place in line, of course) were found as the result of a double-check. Would you ever consider dedicating all (or a good-sized chunk) of your computing power to double-checks?

Have you made provisions for the future of GIMPS at UCM beyond your retirement (e.g. training lab administrators on how to maintain Prime95 installations, install Prime95 on new equipment, etc.)?

Do you believe that the distribution of Mersenne primes obeys a Poisson model?

Have you ever been to Lambert's Cafe ("Home of Throwed Rolls")? I visited the one in Sikeston, down in the Boot Heel, in 2008. I got the notion that Lambert's is a Missouri institution (after having the fried chicken, I could understand why ).

Do you think you'll discover any more mersenne primes in your lifetime? If so, how many more do you think you'll find?
