If you find a sequence you would like to extend, you should reserve it in MersenneForum.org's Aliquot sequence reservations thread; That's the source for the reservations shown in this table. Also note that if the sequence is less than 10,000, there's a good chance it's being worked on by Christophe Clavier. All such reservation requests should be emailed to him. Also keep in mind that his work may not be in the FDB (and thus not in this table). Sequences between 10,000 and 100,000 should also be checked further at MersenneForum, because this range was worked on by Clifford Stern. See this MF thread for more details about or to ask about the status of sequences in these ranges.

(The comment about 5 digit sequences is more or less irrelevant at this point)

Christophe's page is at http://christophe.clavier.free.fr/Al...ier_table.html ; note it hasn't been updated for nearly a year and a quarter. My guess is that the sequences not marked as reserved to someone else on that page are reserved to Christophe.

That was my impression. When I took over 7044 he had several lines that were not in the FactorDB.

My best impression is that he controls all 4 digit sequences (other than those that PZ works on). If you want to do any 4 digit work, you must run it by him first. As you've discovered the hard way

I updated the reservations. Every 4 digit sequence should be reserved right now. I updated two sequences in factordb with data from Christophe all others where either better in factordb or the same.

As reservations are not so frequent for those lower sequences let me know if I should change a reservation.
