My only problem with NewEgg is that they ship FedEx. Period. NO OTHER OPTIONS.

FedEx is a Major PITA to deal with where I live - therefore I don't deal with NewEgg.

It gets VERY annoying to have to take a half hour off work to drive 50 miles out of my way to the FedEx "local area" center to pick up something, then drive the 50-odd miles home - ends up costing *me* more in gas and time lost from work then it cost THEM to ship the stuff.

No, I don't have the option of letting them send it to work - 2 reasons

1) NewEgg generally won't LET you send something to an address other than what's on the credit card, IME with them.
2) Place I work won't let employees have non-company-related stuff shipped to them at work any more. 8-(

I will NOT deal with NewEgg again, unless (1) they start using UPS or US Parcel Post, or (2) I end up in an area where Fed frigging Ex is NOT a major PITA to deal with.

Oh yeah - the fact that AMD refuses to ship RMA CPUs any way other than Fed frigging Ex (even though their phone people CLAIM they can) has just made this even MORE annoying for me....

Probably the reason some companies use only FedEx is because FedEx offers the companies incentives if FedEx is the sole shipper. This translates in cheaper shipping for the consumer, but unfortunately, as in your case QuintLeo, lack of options can sometimes be bad for the consumer. It's all just part of the trade-offs of running a business

For the Aussies amoungst us, I think the best online retail is:

http://prices.techwatch.com.au/index.php?page=list

It lists the cheapest prices for a given component avail in Aus. Very good. Includes graphical price history etc..
