Oops - New Prime! (M49 related)

A new prime has been reported to the server. We need a CUDALucas volunteer to verify -- contact madpoo.

Aaron, James and I have egg on our face. The prime was reported last year but went unnoticed (again) for months. I have a plan to make sure this does not happen again (failure of the automated announcement email)

I'll be back from a brief trip in 36 hours with more details.

Anyway, great news!! Congrats to GIMPS! (pending official verifications)

That is great news, even though the method of discovery is not optimal

Let's cross our fingers that verification holds.

I can start verification on my 5960X (ETA 44-48 hours if the expoment is in the 61-64M range), and I can check on my Titan Black with CudaLucas.

Is there any error code? What are your thoughts as to the odds this is a legitimate find?

(...Would anyone be willing to PM me the exponent in question? lol. I can offer only an i7-2600K, with either Prime95 or Mlucas.)

Here's what can be said:

no error codes in the run
the exponent is between 2 and 595e6 (couldn't resist, sorry, but not sorry)

I would love to get someone with CudaLucas and the fastest dang GPU out there so we can do the code/platform independent run ASAP

What's the fastest GPU for LL testing? Anyone with a Tesla K80 or a Titan X / Z ?

The current best offer on the table is a Titan Black from ATH.

My 8 cores CPU is a bit faster than my Titan Black, but that way I can get a preliminary verification on the CPU and then another one a few hours later on the GPU.

Titan X has lousy double precision performance?
