Move 13 discussion: Everyone vs stockfish
The poll for move 12 just closed, and the most popular move was Nf5. Stockfish responded with 12...Re8, and the FEN is:

If we want to exchange our knight for the bishop, now is the time. We could decide that we prefer to keep our knight on its dominating square f5, but we should be aware that if we don't exchange now then Black will probably reply ...Bf8 to preserve the bishop.
In the chessgames.com database the position occurs 13 times. In 11 games White played 13.Nxe7+. The other two games, both from the year 1967, were Matulovic-Maric, which continued 13.Qf3, and Janosevic-Matulovic, which went 13.Be3. In both games Black replied 13...Bf8. Let's also note that the move 13.f3 is dubious before we've protected the diagonal with our bishop. After the reply 13...Qb6+ we are forced to interpose a knight on d4 in a self-pinning manoeuvre, because 14.Kh1?? Nf2+ 15.Kg1? Nh3+ 16.Kh1 Qg1+ 17.Rxg1 Nf2# is the well-known Philidor mate.
