Possible extra sources (at your own risk, of course):
http://bookshop.blackwell.co.uk/jsp/...=9780534085148 For anyone who wants supplementary reading alongside the above book, I would suggest Davenport: http://www.cambridge.org/nl/academic...tion?format=PB Or if you want to get your teeth stuck in (and are willing to spend a little more), the classic is, of course, Hardy and Wright: http://ukcatalogue.oup.com/product/9780199219865.do |

Too bad there isn't a way to (legally) copy the book and remunerate the author, especially since the book is out of print.
Maybe $5 per copy, done on the honor system? He probably didn't get $5 for the sale of a new book. And he certainly isn't making any money off of used books. ![]() We know, the world doesn't work like that. |

IMHO, anyone told that the book they ordered is not available should leave a negative review if their transaction allows it. It is a dirty secret that some of these businesses are claiming to have books that they intend to acquire after making a sale. I have some personal experience in this as several years ago, I sold a few of my used books on Amazon...
I would hang around on an Amazon seller's message board ... and there was a message from someone working for a publisher saying that that he was personally aware that a particular book had not been printed yet despite it being offered for sale by at least one notorious merchant. I announced my intention to test his statement and ponied up my credit card to buy that very book from the dubious venue. He was so amused that he offered to send me a free copy when the book was eventually actually printed. He nicely followed through and a couple of months later a copy from him arrived at my door. In the meantime, the notorious covert middleman seller upon cancelling my purchase transaction complied with his particular satisfaction policy by offering a store credit of about ten bucks which I used to buy, irony alert, a number theory book. I didn't leave him a negative review. I felt the satisfaction policy credit was punishment enough. So, bottom line after all was said and done, I was a couple of books richer and got to talk smack on Amazon's Seller Soapbox (yes, really!) forum. There was once a thread about the automatic price gougers. When the prices are with cents, it is frequently a telltale sign of an algorithm (some storefronts are using programs to set the prices). The weirdest anomalies happen when one robot is outbidding another (but adds 15% so that it could buy it, sell it from his account, pay Amazon and still make a profit); the prices can go to millions of dollars (there were precedents).
