Now that's an interesting case. We had a project earlier this year of redoing a lot of sannerud's TF work as the machine it was done on was borked. It looks like GPU72 didn't pick up that the exponent had been factored.

Hmmm... There is code which looks for cases where work is done outside of GPU72, and /should/ have seen this.

I'll run some tests on some candidates I've run which found a factor; I'll delete my assignment record, and set the candidate's record to be one bit down, and ensure my code is sane (and fix it when I determine it isn't).

Sorry for the wasted cycles, but such cases should be exceptionally rare.

Same here, a series of "not needed" DCTF in 4xM to 71, about 6 or 7 of them. Might be poaching, I never did unreserve TF work, usually I finish all my assignments before moving to something else.

If you want to give me a few examples, I can look and see if they were checked in as unassigned results or if they actually had an assignment ID.

Hi Chris,

can you check those two exponents? I got them for P-1 from GPU to 72, I just wanted to return them but obviously results are not needed.

A bit strange are the results anyway (same for both exponents):
User "Guido Lorenzini" reported "no factor from 2⁷³ to 2⁷⁴" and "no factor from 2⁷⁴ to 2⁷⁵" on 2015-09-17 and than reported factors within exactly that range on 2015-09-25.

Basically, it assigned the candidate to you for P-1'ing after it observed that Guido had completed the TF'ing without success. It then awarded you the "Factor Found" when he reported in his factor (because it was "owned" by you).

Guido is a fairly productive TF'er, with the expected number of factors found. I really have no idea what happened here; perhaps he reran some candidates after tuning his card(s)?

"For Research" checked it in with an assignment ID.

If I had to guess, they probably had the assignment previously and didn't start work on it for long enough that it expired. You picked up the new assignment on Sep. 23rd, meanwhile "For Research" started work on it and checked in a result 3 days after you got the assignment.

Maybe it was from a system "For Research" has that isn't always connected or something? Anyway, if that's what happened (non-responsive client that got it's assignment expired), hopefully "For Research" can pick up the pace of reporting progress or checking in more frequently.

Whoops. Sorry about that!

One of my "stacks" was offline for several weeks because of a dead UPS (power is hell here in Bim!). I had thought the candidates would complete in time and/or Primenet would tell them that the candidates were no longer assigned to them.

Madpoo, please transfer the credit as appropriate if it's not too much trouble.

Now, back to the eclipse (it's spectacular!!!)
