Yes. this makes sense to me. I agree that preventing Bxd7 so that we can play ...Ne5 is a good idea and the benefits may offset the weakened squares which result.

We have about 24 hours left and we all need to write down our choices urgently.

I now vote for [U]21...f5[/U]. My second choice is 21...Qe8 if that provides a majority opinion.

I'm not thrilled with ..f5, but I accede to the analysis and am willing
to settle for it. If they exchange on f5 so that we lose our N for their B,
they have Qb3 or Rfb1 to strengthen the b file, so I'm not sure where
our strength lies. But at least it would unpin our Q.
So really I'm ok with ..f5.

The knight on d4 prevents Qb3 and they have other things to worry about before playing Rfb1.
