So many puzzles have strong hints in their wording, and I also got hung up on the use of "equation" here as possibly part of the trick. The equals sign doesn't need to be there, and since there is nothing on the other side it's not an equation.

Can you say intentional obfuscation? Puzzles are like that. A little misdirection, etc.

consider the term (x-x)


answer
all the terms are multiplied by zero , to the answer is 0.
