We are running a long-term QA process on Ernst Mayer's Mlucas. Usually we run double-check work because that gives us immediate feedback as to the validity of our calculations.
However, occasionally we like to run a first-time test to test different FFTs and to push the program harder, by running it longer. We currently have finished 67167619 and we are looking for someone to run a double-check on it so we can get feedback now rather than waiting a few years for the double-check wave to get into that area. We have interim residues recorded for every 1,000,000 iterations in the text file attached to this post. Thank you for your assistance!

I was going to volunteer,
but when I tried to get a manual assignment for it from primenet, I get Error code: 40 Error text: No assignment available meeting CPU, program code and work preference requirements, cpu_id: 952745, cpu # = 0, user_id = 127955 Any ideas on how I can get the assignment ? |

For your (early) peace of mind, the first 10M iterations are matching.

Thanks to Mike for doing those -- no sure if he thought I was feeling lonely, or wanted me to be able to focus of development/debug without having to worry about doing long-run QA as well.
(I do 24/7/365 big runs on my Haswell, but that is with the code in Fermat-number run mode. No other high-end hardware in my little "farm", which is really more akin to a small urban gardening plot than a farm.) |
