I also hope he is OK. I actually enjoyed his constant attacks -- it was like a never ending audit, and kept everyone on their toes and honest.

My best guess is that David has found somewhere else to "hang out" online during his enforced absence from here, and now there is little reason for him to return to this forum. There may well be other communities which are better suited to his style than this one is.

Given that David and I share an alma mater (Coll. Exon., Oxon.) and have corresponded on non-forum matters by PM I expect that I would have heard if his situation had turned markedly worse.

No news is probably good news in this case.
