Is anyone here using their GPUs to do DC, LL or P-1 work?
If so, would you be interested in trading some of my CPU resources (on the work-type of your choice) for your GPU resources DC-TFing in the 33M range to 71 "bits" at a fair and agreed upon ratio? For context, over the last 30 days 4,168 candidates have been successfully DCed. During the same period, only 2,128 candidates were TFed to 71 bits in 33M -- the current wave-front. As there are currently only 6,686 available candidates appropriately TFed in 33M, we are only ~98 days away from releasing DC candidates not yet appropriated TFed. The usual trading rules would apply -- you get to keep the credits for both the CPU and GPU work. Also, to be explicit, in the unlikely case of a new Mersenne Prime being found you would get official recognition for the find. Anyone interested? |

What will be the ratio?
EDIT: Well, not that I can do anything, you probably have severalfold more GPU power than me. Last fiddled with by kracker on 2014-01-23 at 16:22 |

Depends on the work-type and the GPU's GHz/Day performance for same. LaurV's ratio was (IIRC) 8-to-1 for P-1.
But I'm flexible -- I would be willing to "take a small loss" in order to gain back a bigger lead in the DC range. (Pete, we miss you!!! )

Quite possibly not -- I only have one 580 thanks to Jerry (currently dedicated to the 33M range 16 hours a day plus weekends), and one 560 which is currently offline because I don't have another machine to host it (that will hopefully change soon).

Maybe take down the message on GPU72 requesting that we do LL-TF instead because we're "so far ahead of the wave?"
That's the reason I've not done any DC-TF work. I didn't realize this DC-TF thing was important. I thought it was some fetish a few of us were having all of a sudden. I assume GPU72 is providing appropriate assignments if we pick Makes SenseTM? |

Of course, over time things evolved -- particularly once MISFIT became available... If I don't get any takes on CPU for GPU trading, I may extend the LLTF form to assign DCTF work if MISFIT is used and the "Let GPU72 decide" option is selected. But, at the same time, LLTFing is still quite critical -- particularly now that we're dropping back down into the 54M to 57M range to take to 73. I'm hoping that I'll get some takers who are currently using their GPUs to do work other than TFing, since it won't take away from our current TFing efforts, and doing anything but TFing on a GPU is sub-optimal. |

Well, just for fun I will be running 33M to 71 on my GPU's. No need for other credits.
EDIT: Well, one GPU until I get my Haswell up in a few days. Last fiddled with by kracker on 2014-01-23 at 16:52 |

I will receive a gtx 590 next week. I planned to use it for CUDALucas,
but I am happy to use it for whatever makes sense. Last fiddled with by blip on 2014-01-23 at 16:50 |

Please let me know if you'd like one of my machines tied to your account doing either DCing or LLing (your choice) in trade. Thanks!

Starting this weekend, I can devote a 560ti to tf in this range if you still need it.
