Check when it was written. It may not cover recent developments such as P-1 on GPUs.

The analysis does not depend on hardware. The optimal B1/B2
estimates suggested in the paper depends only on the relative
speeds with which one can run Step 1 and Step 2.

Even then, it is easy to adjust the B1/B2 ratio as the relative
speeds change.
