Some options in Prime95 included the Torture test and benchmark may be inactive if you are crunching a prime. You have first to pause crunching by choosing Stop under the first menu. To restart crunching you choose Start.

Hi there guys,
I used to run the torture test regularly on my old PC (which was an Athlon XP 2600+ / nForce 2 combination) every time I put in a new component just to test its stability. I have just upgraded to an Athlon 64 3000+ / nForce 3 setup and Windows SP2, and Prime 95 will not run the torture test correctly. I loaded P95, set it to run the torture test, and when I can back 10 minutes later it hadn't even completed the first iteration. I looked at the task manager, and the CPU usage was on 5%. Anyone know what is going on and how to fix this? The Moog |

Its thrashing because it is trying to use too much memory. Use the custom test with less memory or use the in-place test.

Hmm,
seems odd as I had 1Gig of DDR400 RAM in my old setup, and I currently only have 512MB of DDR400 (waiting for 1Gig of new faster memory to arrive) but that seems to have sorted it. Cheers, The Moog |

Hello, I have used Prime95 several times to stress my computer. However last time i was going to use it, the Blend test didn't move on to test 2. It just stayed at test 1 for over an hour untill i aborted.
It worked good 3 days ago when i ran it, haven't changed any hardware/software or configurations since then. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but same happens. Note, all the other tests works fine. It's just the Blend one. Anyone know whats causing this? Regards |

Prime95 may have over-allocated memory and is thrashing. Use Custom instead and reduce the amount of memory used.

Hello, I am trying to run prime95 but I can't get it to work. This is what it says all the time:
Test 1, 4000 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M19922945 using 1024K FFT length. FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5 expected less than 0.4 Hardware failur detected, consult stress.txt file. Torture Test ran 0 minutes - 1 errors, 0 warnings. Execution halted. Can someone help me find our what is wrong? |

I have 2 gigs, 1gbx2, of ocz dual channel platinum memory at 2-3-2-5 1T, a and athlon 64 3200+ cpu overclocked to 2.2 ghz using the auto oc feature on a asus -sli premium motherboard. The motherboard was reading the wrong timings so I adjusted it to meet the specs.
