Funny, I didn't even consider that. I wonder if that's what they are intending. I agree we have prospects here and don't need to fear this bishop exchange particularly.

Don't have much time currently as busy at uni. I am fine with either Bc6 of Nf3.
Is Ne2 worth considering? It would force them to defend their pawn again.

27.Ne2 is an interesting suggestion. If Black was forced to reply 27...Rf8 I would like it very much. We would repeat moves with 28.Ng1 and they would have to look for a different way to proceed since they are the ones who have winning chances at the moment.

But I think 27.Ne2 is well answered by 27...Be5. We cannot reply 28.Bxg6 hxg6 29.Qxg6+ Kf8 30.Qh6+ Bg7 31.Qh5 Rd2 winning the knight and mating soon. So we have simply lost time with the knight which is badly placed where it was before instead of on the good blockading and defensive square f3 to which it was heading. Black will consolidate with the move ...Kg7 and we are just watching where they want to invade us.

Obviously that's only my view, as always.

Currently I like 27.Bc6 best, getting it in while their queenside pawns are still loose.

It's that time again, isn't it? At this moment we have just over 19 hours before the move needs to be played.

David, you said you are busy, but are you available to make our move?

In case you are not, the last time I will be around before the deadline is around 09:00 GMT, 9 May, which is about 7 hours before the deadline. Please let me know if you want me to play the move then.

And we all (Zeta-Flux too I hope!) need to state which move we now vote for.

My vote is 27.Bc6. Prepared to change to 27.Nf3 if this avoids an equal split.

I looked at Ne2 today but I much prefer 27. Bc6. My vote is Bc6.

The deadline is 1606 GMT on 9 May which is 0906 PDT for me, so I will be available to post the move if necessary until 1530 GMT when I depart for work.

David and Pace, we'd love to hear from you two!

Looks like Bc6 is what we are going for unless some new inspiration comes up.
