1. Please provide the specific data to back up your claims. Which users do both DC range TF and the DC's.
2. Please prove that the factors that the GPU TF'ers in the DC range are 'cheap'. (BTW, the bit-level that we are trying to get to in the 332M range is calculated to be the appropriate break even point. Thus they are not cheap.)
3. Some might be, but that is not the main reason for the bulk of those doing the work. You must prove your positive assertion. BTW, if 'they' are so obsessed with countdowns, please explain why there has been no change in the 'All exponents below xxxxx have been tested and double-checked' milestone in almost 4 months (the same for the first time LL minimum).

Wow, you really don't know what you are talknig about... take a lesson: It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool that to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

The 3 top DC-TF are myself, ckdo and aspen. Of these three, I am obviously the powerhouse and my motive is not one you listed above. My reason for doing DC-TF is to get to the point where there is no DC-TF, ie: make sure ALL DC candidates are properly TF'd same as we are doing for LL-TF.

I have 5 machines running with 4 GPUs, a 2500k with a GTX480 that pumps out ~3 LL's every 10 days and ~370 GHzD/Day of LL-TF, a 2400 with a GTX480 the performs ~5 DC every 8 days and ~370 GHzD/Day of LL-TF, 2 Core2Quad 6600's with GTX560's running ~7 P-1 every 4 days and ~2 ECM per day along with ~400 GHzD/Day of DC-TF and finally a leptop running 4 cores of P-1. The only thing I am missing in all this is ECM-F, so I think I am firly well-rounded in my work.

DON'T cast aspersions on the integrity of my character when you have no idea who I am.

That's one of my favourite sayings.
Why don't you heed it?

anyone ever think about how newcomers to gimps would view such a slew of moronic and deameaning posts. Is this what Mr. Woltman envisioned when gimps was born? Why are these posts not removed and offenders banned. Oh right.......this is science, so it's ok for such behavior.

Without argument is no progress.

Although, there are limits.

Optimizing in our current situation is not very simple.

But I think that you will agree that everything to 73, and 74 where there is firepower to spare is a better idea than "74 or bust (<=71)".

You made an assumption about people's motivations for doing DC, TF on GPU.
One of those people just told you that was NOT his motivation.

So he is right that you should not make assumptions on other people's motivations, and when they contradict you about their own motivations, don't continue to say that your assumption on other people's motivations is true.

Congratulations on your award of the Silverman prize for objectionability.

I can assure you that banning and binning is not an infrequent occurrece.
Often this incurs throwing babies out with the bath water, and causes distress.

Although I haven't even tried it, there is such a thing as the "ignore" button. I am capable of ignoring threads and posts without destroying information.

I do concede that some folk might appear to be at war with each other to the uninitiated. See for example the "David and Halsall fight politely" thread.

I look forward to hearing a constructive contribution from your Highness.
