I'm thinking that the c value of ga, the cpu number (worker?) requesting the assignment is marked as an int, not an unsigned int. Maybe we could use negative numbers to represent gpu workers.

I know.... My opinion App builders, like me, petition for an APP_ID (guid) that we statically build into our app. Unregistered app would use {0000......} When the app is installed on a machine it generates a static machine guid Users create accounts/passwords via public websites (gimps/gpu72) and configures app to use those credentials. (or select anonymous) When work is requested or reported all four values are submitted for verification/authentication APP_GUID: MACHINE_GUID: USER_ID: PASSWORD: ...... other parameters ....... But....we already know it won't change so I'm just rambling. Last fiddled with by swl551 on 2013-03-22 at 15:03 |

I for one would love to have a linux command line version of misfit, or even a perl script that I can run periodically with cron to fetch new work and submit current results. If necessary I would use a Linux GUI program, but I find it much easier for me access remote machines using the command line rather than VNC.

Well, there is a perl-based submission script you can use here. I run windows myself, but maybe we can get the fetcher to work in linux, or something similar.
EDIT: Though come to think of it, that sort of work might best wait till the api thread runs it's course. Last fiddled with by Aramis Wyler on 2013-03-24 at 19:33 |
