Ignorance is a dangerous thing in the hands of reporters.

Yahoo has a headline the feed: "Acid attack victim gets face transplant" (see attached image.)
Here is the actual story: http://news.yahoo.com/vt-lye-victim-...142851289.html

Clearly the husband was a "base" character.

"Nice one", he said caustically. :)

So you're saying the hubby is a "lyer"?

Timothy Gowers on g+ points to a misleading article on The Telegraph headlined thus:

Look at the graph to see the evidence of global warming
Met Office data show only a tiny change in world temperatures

Timothy Gowers says:
Quote:
How about this for a novel technique for demonstrating that global warming is not a serious problem? You just plot temperatures on a graph with the scale of the y-axis chosen so that the range of temperatures occupies only a small fraction of it. (Oh, and start in 1997 just for good measure, but that trick is well known.) It would be funny if it weren't for the fact that there are people in power who take this kind of thing seriously.

Times of India says: Weight gain after kicking the butt natural

No need to find the article; here are some more sensible variations:

Smokers are better off quitting, even though they'll gain weight
Los Angeles Times - by Karen Kaplan

Quitting Cigarettes Cuts Heart Risks, Even If You Gain Weight
U.S. News & World Report

The other headlines may be more sensible, but I enjoyed this one a lot more.

Same here. I like this headline today:
Russian president for wrestling in Olympics.
It leaves one unsure if he wants to keep wrestling in the Olympics so that he can personally participate.

Why not? He can add it to his adventures and image, his singing and painting or martial arts. (all links to the same Wikipedia page)

Somewhere I read a joke that the first thing tapped from that ancient Antarctic lake was a bottle of water for Putin to drink.
