Default 2^4=4^2: Now the fun begins

They made an understandably quick response.

As I recall, our next move is d5 (though they may play fxe5 in response, for which we'd be forced to play Bxe5).

d5 can become 16. d5 17 fxe5 (Bxe5,Nxe5,Qxe5) of course Bxe5 is the easiest option because sacrificing the knight disallows Ne5 which could force them to move a bishop later though it that bishop gets taken a fork for a queen/rook could happen but that's a long way away.

We can't do too much beside of pushing d5. We might move the king to h8, which is very defensive. Nc6 is bad. Taking the pawn in f4 is not good either, we help them planting the horse in our defense line (later he can do Ne6 with fork).

If we push d5, he must take it with exd5, or defend his e4 pawn (by Ng3, Qc2, Qa4). He can't really capture our e5 pawn: fxe5 might turn out almost bad for him after Bxe5, exd5, Nxd5, Bxd5, Qxd5, Qxd5, Bxd5 and he can't defeat easily his king side and both pawns.

So, we push d5, they take d5. Probably they push a3 (or b3 but difficult to defend), otherwise they lose it. We have to think from there, but my opinion is that we go toward a draw...
