Or push expiration dates up a "lot"

@chalsall: Oh, can you push up max assignments for DC LL? I reserve about ~300 at a time 68-69, and I have to do it thrice

Given that we are comfortably ahead of the wave, we could relax the GPU72 expiry limit to 60 days. Remember that regardless of how large the limit is it will always be possible for the exponents to expire and then be reassigned and completed by the original assignee.

GPU72 was originally designed to cater to dedicated participants who had fast GPUs and who would tinker with their worktodos manually on at least a weekly basis. The scope of the project has expanded immensely and it is now a mini-Primenet of sorts. But given that the urgency to catch up to the LL wave is gone, we could certainly go for a 60 day limit. Factoring to 73 also takes a lot more time than 71!

Agree with the 60 days. Seems like anyone that is established on GPU72 would be careful not to go over 30, but we all get busy... 60 would still allow them to expire if someone gets assignments and then doesn't work them or forgets about them, etc.

Or has a system go down. I lost my reporting system a few weeks back, and have not had the time to determine if it is a HD/MB/CPU/MEM problem as yet. The assignments from this system just started turning red and warning me they were about to expire, so I regenerated them and put them on a different system.

Silly me... I figured it would take about a week to build a system which would be "good enough".

Then, serious feature creep set in...

Then, some very serious firepower manifested...

And the rest is history!
I thought I'd share these before I send them the way of the dodo. (My PM box is almost full.)

I believe it will reassign them to you. Try it and see.

Assuming this works, I would prefer you to do this to all of them, so I no longer need to track them myself.

These were unreserved then re-reserved anonymously so you should (!) be able to claim them. Change the 70 to whatever you actually do them to.

A very good point. I have disabled the expiry script for the time being.

We still have the occasional situation where someone new shows up and reserves a few (or a hundred) assignments without completing a single one. I'll implement (when I have time) a new expiry script which takes this into account.

Thanks Dubslow.

I knew Mr. P-1 was doing a lot of work, but I didn't appreciate just how much until this message.

And just so everyone knows, I'm seriously busy with my SFM project -- Computer Vision is seriously hard, but also a lot of fun. I hope to get back to GPU72 to enable Scott's MISFIT to fetch work from GPU72 soon.

This is the first assignment I got from Mr P-1. Subsequent ones were by email to escape the 5000 character PM limit. Those emails long since joined the Digital Dodos in oblivion.

@kladner: Thanks.

Guys, you can save all your PMs. Just use the drop down menu on the bottom right to download them as text or csv or xml. I have PMs from 2002 saved up.
