Must be nice. Here's mine:
Factored composite : 0
Lucas-Lehmer composite: 3
Double-checked LL : 1

But, one of the LLs is a 33,000,000 exponent, and I've only been in GIMPS since mid November. :)

It depends on the interest of people to run DC or LL1 for pride or 10M for the money. I got about 10 thousand factors manually just to see the years go down in the status page for fun. I'm more interested in the math thing. We'll if George will implement my new algorithm PowerECM. It might reduce the time spent on Trial and P-1. As it does both job much faster.

You mean you have already found 10,000 factors ? Or have you TFed 10,000 exponents, of which several were factored? BTW, what ranges of exponents are you TFing?[/quote]

lycorn-

Some people factor giant ranges of numbers before George releases them via PrimeNet...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoneMersenneHunters/

I always thought the name "LoneMersenneHunters" was funny because you ain't going to find a Mersenne prime factoring! :)

In a private communication, Darak suggested the following...

The more I look at it the more it does seem a very small number of us supply the lion share of the DC work. Maybe sometime in the near future I will calculate the % since last server sync. for each account and see just how many are really putting a effort into the DC work.
This sounded fun, so I took crack at it.

Based on the Cleared Exponents Report 01 Feb 2003 05:00 (Jan 31 2003 10:00PM Pacific), and including all exponents cleared either by LL doublecheck or by finding a factor during doublecheck (codes D and DF):

[code:1]
Total Doublechecks Cleared: 9266
Total Accounts with at least 1 Doublecheck: 1845

------------------------------------------------------
-------------------- The Top 20 --------------------
------------------------------------------------------
Rank Account # Cleared % Cleared Cumulative
---- -------------- --------- --------- ----------
1 Team_Prime_Rib 1868 20.16% 20.16%
2 TempleU-DI 241 2.60% 22.76%
3 TempleU-CAS 191 2.06% 24.82%
4 dswanson 174 1.88% 26.70%
5 shaneamy 158 1.71% 28.40%
6 chris65 151 1.63% 30.03%
7 Team_Italia 139 1.50% 31.53%
8 PaJaSoft 119 1.28% 32.82%
9 Northwestern 105 1.13% 33.95%
10 S01822 97 1.05% 35.00%
11 cmarble 91 0.98% 35.98%
12 lozcs 84 0.91% 36.89%
13 foxkid 79 0.85% 37.74%
14 qwertqwert 72 0.78% 38.52%
15 sirlpr 68 0.73% 39.25%
16 GP2 67 0.72% 39.97%
17 S73562 59 0.64% 40.61%
18 SW 57 0.62% 41.23%
19 WileECoyote 52 0.56% 41.79%
20 ganser 48 0.52% 42.31%

[/code:1]
More than a third of the total doublechecks are done by the top 10; over half of the doublechecks are done by the top 42. The remaining 1803 accounts take care of the other half.

Oh, and our poaching buddy Malfoy? He comes in at #35, with 28 poaches cleared, all less than 7M.

As one of the stats trackers for Team_Prime_Rib a quick check of our overall figures breaks down as -

Lucas-Lehmer - 4100
Double Checking - 6600
Factors Found - 2500

The name was actually derived from the Lone Scouts program of Boy Scouting. Lone Scouts is for kids living in low populationdensity areas where no troops exists.
Lone Mersenne hunters work outside the server ranges and therefore check in results in isolated ranges.

If you are working in ranges outside the server, then how do you check your results into the server? Do you mean ranges outside of those not automatically assigned by the server?
