I find it interesting that so many people are switching off as colder weather approaches. At least in the NH. I switched my second computer on last week after leaving it off all summer. And I don't turn mfaktc off during the day anymore.

It was too expensive for Xyzzy (he sold his cards) and Craig's in Australia, where it's getting hotter, not colder.

I don't look forward to the Midwest winter. At least it helps me justify converting 690 Watts into heat via my computer.
.....and right under my desk, too!

EDIT: The change of seasons has gotten me to indulge pushing the GPUs harder. My limit is now the 750 W PSU. But I have to draw the line somewhere. I already upgraded power when I got the second GPU. If I had more power the cooler, or something, would become the bottleneck.

While 'yall punch yourself in the top ~15 or 20, I struggle to keep in the 30's with my lone two low end gpu's
Yeah, I haven't been doing much in gpu72 lately, but even if I had it would be almost same

It really wasn't about the weather in my case — I work at the computer several hours a day and I just grew tired of the fan noise and heat thrown out by the GPU into the room. Now the computer is nearly silent; the CPU is water cooled and the fan makes hardly any noise, even with five cores at 100%.

I'm glad to see the first DC I returned was a match; gives me confidence that my first time LLs are also valid.

Watercooling for the GPU too then?

No, I'd just have the GPU heat quietly exhausted into the room. Wish someone would come up with some clever way to vent the heat to the outside.
