The best apps for stress testing all parts of GPU are Furmark and OCCT .

You can also use this to make sure the memory on the GPU is working properly:

Hello folks,
I want to stress-test the GPU (an Nvidia Quadro 1000M) in my new laptop, a Thinkpad W520. If possible, I would very much like to do it in 64-bit Linux, which I'm accessing right now in command-line mode over SSH. I would like to install the least possible amount of software on it, as it's currently booted from a text-mode-only Linux LiveCD (PLD Linux RescueCD 11.2). I've rummaged through this forum and found (and read entirely) both the GPU FAQ and the PDF attached to it, but can't figure out what exactly I need to install any of the GPU-enabled programs in this environment. Do I have to have full-blown X installed? Or is it enough to copy NVIDIA's kernel module and load it, and a couple of libraries and then LD_LIBRARY_PATH them? Thanks in advance, -- Durval. |
