Our (sketchy) records indicate that we have sent out 99 buttons. However, we have ~105 buttons left. It was much cheaper, per button, to order 200 of them instead of just 100. (The same was true for 1,000 buttons, but we did not fall for that one!) So, what do we do with all of these buttons? Ideas: Send everyone a second button! We could "drop ship" a package of buttons to certain countries and then have someone deliver them "locally". Send the buttons to a big math conference and give them out, in the hopes of snagging some prominent mathematicians to frequent the forum. Any other ideas out there? We do have one button queued up to send. Again, we like to make trips to the post office with several buttons to mail at once. (So if you want one, now is the time!) We do plan to do more buttons in the future, but we will order only 100 of them and we will design a way to get them mailed safely in an envelope that fits through a ¼ inch slot. Then we can send them as non-machinable first class instead of as a parcel. *** TOP SEKRIT *** |

We would not mind to have a second one, if the international shipping is not a burden, and only if there are no other people willing to have it. As you may remember, our one arrived a bit damaged (the end of the hook of the clip was cut longer then normal, and it went into the chin of the guy on the other side, it didn't perforate it, just bent it, we cut the end of the hook 2 mm such it will not touch the surface anymore, and we pressed back the surface using some rubber tool to avoid damaging the paint, it looks like new, but it is still palpable when touched or visible when cautiously examined). We could play the local distributor, but honestly we don't know anybody in our area to be member of the forum or passionate of math and/or gimps, so one would be enough. We like the button, and our daughter likes it too.
Related to: you may do the future buttons with no clip. We can insert a wire there an manufacture that clip in seconds using a pair of pliers (no joke, I can do that!). We have the wire, but you can provide a plain wire of few inches for the guys who have none. The buttons will be cheaper to manufacture without clip and safer for transport. Also it can be more flat (like replacing lenses with fresnel lenses :P) for easy "enveloping". We would not mind the buttons being more flat. |
