PRPNet 5.5 Released

PRPNet is a client/server application that you can use to search for primes of various popular types including:

Sierpinski/Riesel
Generalized Cullen/Woodall
Carol/Kynea
Primorial
Factorial

and many others. This application targets projects that are not supported by BOINC. It works great for those who have their own "farm" of CPUs and want to manage work for that farm from a single computer.

I fixed the issue reported here that 5.0 clients could not talk to 4.0.x servers.

I made two changes:

1) Since primality tests take a long time for primorials/factorials, and as the pfgw doesn't checkpoint primality tests, the client will no longer do them for numbers of those forms.
2) If the ini file was modified to remove all servers and the client has completed all tests and returned them, then shut down.

I've posted PRPNet 5.0.8. It has the following changes:

prpserver: Added support for wwwwcl helper program (an OpenCL implementation of the wwww program).
prpserver: Use coalesce() for PostgreSQL support and ifnull() for MySQL support.
prpclient: Added support for wwwwcl helper program (an OpenCL implementation of the wwww program).

I have prpclient-4.3.0beta-windows-gpu version to play around with. Is that the latest gpu-version for windows?
