Well my scrabble players dictionary doesn't have those words.
BTW, It didn't have quizzically either, properly played in the lower left corner is enough to win all by it's lonesome.

Here it is...

Code:
March 9, 2004: All exponents below 12,000,000 tested at least once.
February 23, 2004: All exponents below 8,000,000 double-checked.
November 17, 2003: Prime M(20996011) is discovered!

So, how is this possible?

March 9, 2004: All exponents below 12,000,000 tested at least once.

meanwhile....

10400029 65 404609 173.4 1398 13.5 07-Mar-04 16:48 29-Nov-03 19:16 S133781 C97B91DF8

10400777 65 7435136 88.4 -11.2 48.8 24-Apr-04 23:32 22-Feb-04 19:10 mhosig Nck

etc...

There are many numbers less than 12,000,000 that are still out for the first time. In fact, primenet status lists 68 of them that are out for first time checks.

1398 days to go on a 10.4M exponent!

This makes even my sister's computer look like the Earth Simulator...

I have not kept current with all the latest on how things work within the GIMPS project, but here's my best guess as to how all exponents below 12,000,000 have been tested at least once and how Primenet still lists 68 of those as being out for first-time checks.

Any GIMPS participant can use the Prime95 software to test any exponent. Any GIMPS participant can send results to the individual who goes by the username "Prime95" in this forum. There are apparently other GIMPS record-keeping systems outside of and apart from Primenet.

I think there was a discussion somewhere in this forum sometime ago on the topic of --ahem-- poaching. It's quite an emotional topic for some people. Fascinating to read.

From this thread in the Lounge forum,

There can be differences between George's database and Primenet's, especially when they're reporting slightly different things.
