Sometimes I go too far and I have certainly been known to inadvertently upset people. If I have done that to you, you are certainly not the first.
Nah, not upset. No problem at all. Thanks for the compliment.

I for one am much relieved to have cmd, davar55, and science_man_88 on my ignore list because I got tired of reading their drivel. Others should do the same. If people stop responding to them, then their postings will drop off.

We happen to enjoy cmd's posts. While they clutter the forum somewhat, they are creative and interesting.

What CMD posts is mostly random and doesn't correlate to anything that is being discussed. How can random be called creative?

Shall I type a bunch of random words or digits so that I can be called creative too?

His youtube links are annoying but I find it quite fun trying to work out what he's trying to get across. And it's usually easy to just scroll passed his posts.

In fact, I often end up laughing and quoting him to my wife. (Sorry cmd. )

I suppose it could be considered a form of "abstract art".

I think I might have brought this up before, but I couldn't find it back (though obviously I found this thread). I run into the 2 minute limit (lol) between posts more often than is probably healthy, however in the last week or so I noticed that I have yet (in the last week) to try and post more than once in a minute, i.e. I've not hit a the hypothetical one minute limit (lol again ). While reading this, I saw that it was in the past 1 minute... how has the spam been? (FWIW, I haven't really noticed much since I've been here, though that's probably a testament to the anti-spam employed here than anything else.) The reason I'm asking is because I saw someone else complaining about the 2 minute limit in the past week, so I decided to ask if it could be changed, but then I found this thread. So: are the spam blocks/spam levels sufficiently good/low enough to lower the time between posts to 60 seconds?

You see zero spam because all posts by new users go into a moderation queue, and we get rid of spam that gets past the queue with a vengeance. In the past we have had spammers that would post into the queue as fast as the rate limit allowed, until they were banned, but that was quite a while ago by now.

Otherwise the rate limit on posts is to distinguish mersenneforum from AIM :)
