A compilation of various artists works: Millstones of Rock".

I own that one. As well as Bat out of Hull, it also includes Elton John's masterpiece Don't Let The Son Go Down on Me and Kate Bush's Withering Heights

We consider that more as a general guideline than a hard and fast rule. Sue us.

Default As the presently unbared "Master of the GIMPS Music"...

...may I suggest that, since the "album" is regrettably becoming
an obsolete concept, we should certainly embrace singles and films
in addition to album titles in this tread.

Not to forget The Kink Inside.

Edit: if we allow singles, Running Up That Bill

Default "Beatlification"

I`m going to ask Paul (Leyland, not McCartney)`s indulgence of one small stretching of the rules - well really two but who`s counting? (besides me, that is) - namely allowing a group of letters which are spoken as a single sound to be used in 1-to-1 replacements. Similarly, silent letters should not count towards the replacement cost (at least not when it suits me :).

For an example of the single-sound relaxation, this Beatles album (movie soundtrack, to be precise) had the following rather edgy provisional title (which was intended as a follow-on to the single-shot-per-squeeze album Revolver) until their producers suggested one which was more hippie-peace-and-love-evocative:

The Beatles, Yellow Submachine

Yet again I cannot resist einen groben Verstoß gegen die sehr strenge Regeln dieses Fadens with another 2-letter replacement, but this is strictly for purposes of illustrating the silent-letter extension of the rules:

The Beatles, Sergeant Pepper`s Lonely Tarts Club Band

Continuing with the same band, but now in full accordance with the rules - well not really, because this is based on the "commonly known as" name of an unnamed album:

The Beatles, The Shite Album

We can have a lot of fun with Herr Mozart, in German:

K.35 Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebets [The guilt of the first prayer]
K.42 Grobmusik [Gross music]
K.139 Missa solemnis in C minor, "Waisenraus" ["Orphans get out!"]
K.141 Tedium in C
K.149 "Ich hab es längst gesägt", song ["I've been sawing it forever and anon"]
K.150 "Was ich in Gedanken Nüsse", song ["Nuts which I think of"]
K.151 "Ich trachte nicht nach solchen Singen", song ["I desire not such singing"]

It seems we could have even more fun in Italian... but not wanting to be a hog, I now hand off to the rest of the readership.
