I don't think it's any different from what mfakt* already does, but obviously it addresses the more general case, and includes the suggestion that the compiler can make the necessary optimizations.

I'm afraid there's not much new in that article. That's very close to what programmers have been doing on IBM/Sony Cell (the PS3 CPU) for many years: the main CPU is used to feed the 8 smaller CPU's.
