To all,

LLRnet ports 3000 and 8000 for NPLB will soon be obsolete. Although we are not completely getting away from LLRnet for the project, we are wanting to transition more to PRPnet at this point. It has become more stable and is much more versitile than LLRnet. Here are some details:

Port 3000 will likely dry out within a couple of days of this posting. We are then eliminating it from the project due to little interest. Currently PRPnet port 9000 is also running the drive. It has been processing 90-95% of its pairs for a long time so there seems to be little reason to continue with LLRnet on the drive.

Port 8000 will dry out within one hour of this posting. Ian (MyDogBuster) will be solely working on the drive using a private PRPnet server.

My suggestion at this point for anyone left running LLRnet is to move your LLRnet top-5000 prime-search machines to port 3500. Tests are currently running at n=~1.63M. For non-top-5000 LLRnet tests, there is port 7000. We need to finish filling in the holes in k=2000-3000.

A race could be schedule to clean the 7000 server until the end of the year.

Where is the PRPnet software located? I tried the "Come join us" thread but it refers to LLRnet.

Why is it so hard to run this thing?

I tried running the old LLRnet app on an I7-920 and it just refuses to run. It appears to start and it shows the llrnet.exe running for a second or 2 in the Windows 7 Task Manager but then it vanishes. Weird.

Windows or Linux for PRPnet? Which server do you want to run? Send me your Email address and I'll send you the appropriate version all prepared for you to run and quickie instructions on how to change servers if you want to. You'll just need to go to a command prompt and type "prpclinet". Just like LLRnet, you'll need one folder and one command prompt for each instance of PRPnet that you want to run.

I'm not sure what you mean by "old LLRnet app". You should be using the version created by Karsten for Windows and by Max/me for Linux at http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=13165. For using this version, you just have to change the server and your ID in the .ini file. Then go to a command prompt and type "do".

We have a new small LLRnet drive for 8 k's of the individual-k drive. The k's are 317, 329, 335, 341, 363, 391, 393, 399 and the range is n=1.3M-2M. They are now loaded into port 7000.
