At the moment, Windows batch files are your friend...just a list of command lines, assembled with a text editor such as Wordpad or Notepad.. only problem is if your computer crashes for some reason, you'll have to figure out where it was and edit....
Now, if Windows7 wasn't so picky about not letting me use Open With... when right-clicking when the file was a batch file, my life would be easier.....

I've written a couple of very simple ones that just change drive and directory, and start the program. For CUDALucas it also inputs the assignment and sets the per-iteration number. I changed all the periods in the name because I got an error once. Probably wasn't necessary.
CUDALucas.batI'm not sure if I did the right thing to get an assignment. I chose "Smallest Available." However, that returned a string suitable for worktodo.txt. I couldn't figure out how to keep the assignment key string with the exponent, so I just fed in the exponent on the command line. I'm sure there are instructions somewhere on how to return completed assignments. Is "Smallest Available" the best choice for cuda assignments? I want to get the sort of assignments that the "Whatever makes sense" setting in P95, or Most Needed. CUDALucas runs around 94% on the GPU. It uses very little CPU. Now if there were just a way to set affinity from a batch file call. It's a pain to do it manually every time. As things stand, I have mfaktc able to run under XP-32, and CUDALucas under Win7-64. I still haven't found the right cufftxx_xx_xx.dll for cuda to run under XP-32. EDIT: What do you mean about right-clicking, Christenson? I haven't tried Open With. I am able to call Edit and open the .bat in Notepad. What are you trying to do? Edit 2: I just found the following line from the Primenet forum, quoting Prime95: "I'll be watching over the next few months how many people sign up for P-1 factoring. We have tons of people doing LL and TF, we need more people signing up for P-1." Does cudalucas do P-1? Sorry for probably ignorant questions. I'm kind of drowning in this stuff right now. Fine batch file...I usually do the setting of drive letters and changing of directories by hand, but that's just me.
"edit" didn't work for me at the Win7 command line, and edit on right-clicking is just invisible (by long habit only! -- it's there! even on XP, but I'm too used to using open with...and a programmer's editor called CodeWright) so that's what the right clicking in file manager/Windows explorer is all about....Type of work to get for CudaLucas is a preference...as long as it's an LL test, it's up to you. By preference, I do small LL-Ds. Returning results is simple. When CUDALucas is done with that exponent, you'll find a small file called mersarch.txt. Copy the contents from that into box on the "manual results" page, make sure there's a newline at the end (known bug!), and hit submit. Somehow prevent yourself from re-submitting that result, you are done! I don't know how to use the assignment key with CUDAlucas. I wouldn't bother setting CPU affinity for CUDALucas, because it uses such a small amount of CPU. (mfaktc, completely different, you manage that there!) No, CUDALucas doesn't do P-1...it does LL tests...there's no CUDA P-1 program, not yet.... |

Thanks, Christenson. You've cleared up some confusion here.
Things seem to be rolling along pretty well for the moment. mfaktc sure does crank out the results, even at 55% GPU. |
