28.0M - 32.0M is already at 68 bits and most exponents up to 28M are assigned for TF or DC so if 68 bits is the breakeven point we are almost done in the current DC range.

If someone else can chime in with their numbers we can be more sure of that. BTW my 40min estimate was for 24M as was the LL-DC estimate. The post above has been revised to reflect that. My guess is that 69 might be good for 28Ms but not for 25Ms. Hard numbers anyone else?

A lucky number from ckdo -- another LL test no longer needed:
found 1 factor(s) for M27775613 from 2^67 to 2^68 [mfaktc 0.17 barrett79_mul32] tf(): total time spent: 35m 24.609s Hardware: GT440 at 55M candidates/sec, sieveprimes 28803 with one core of an AMD Phenom II x6 running 64-bit xubuntu 10.10. I got a 38 hour run time for an LL test at 25,4xx,xxx on a GT480 I use, but will have to wait a bit to upload mersarch.txt. It was not and still is not running mfaktc again. Others here can *beat* (or run circles around) me... Garo, don't forget to factor in the core that is feeding pseudoprimes to mfaktc....what's your value of sieveprimes? |

I do four such assignments every 22 minutes with the GPU not even saturated. Still, every contribution is valued. 101 mph...

If I remember a previous comment correctly, CKDO has a GTX5xx with a big number, possibly 80, filling the last two digits.

And I keep salivating over one of those...A GT580....but I was cheap about my GT440, only spent a hundred bucks or so, and the 580 costs probably half a grand....

I feel very fortunate that I picked up a GTX460 for about a hundred (after rebate). But I do need to send the rebate stuff off, or not get the 30 bucks back.
