Use the checkbox to exclude currently assigned exponents.

I have 2 computers reserving and running TF in the Exponent=334M range. Currently am raising to 67 bits on a 1.8GHz with single window and 66 bits on a 3.2 with 2 windows. I don't know if I need to reserve them, but I used both boxes and got the hex-codes attached to them (Ig this means it is reserved?)

Correct me if I'm wrong! I'm trying to extend the low bit-depth ranges first until I get enough for a decent (read new) computer, so let's keep at it!

I've got a brand new Intel i7 870 I'm itching to get started working on this project.
Hi and welcome!

To be brutally honest, with the advent of GPU Trial Factoring your i7 would be more effective elsewhere, perhaps LL testing, LL double testing or even P-1 factoring. Just to give you an idea my GTX 560 card can probably factor in an hour what you would require a full day on your brand new i7 on all 4 (real) cores.

If you go the GPU route (with mfaktc or mfacto), here is how it works:

1) With Prime95, Put the line MaxExponents=n in your Prime.txt file. change n for something that make sense to you, perhaps 250 or 1000.
2) Setup Prime95 to reserve 100s of "Trial Factoring to Low Limits"
3) When its done reserving exponent. open the worktodo.txt file and copy the assignment found there to the worktodo.txt for mfaktc
4) when done or periodically, upload your results.txt file at the folowing webpage (make sure you login before you upload):
http://www.mersenne.org/manual_result/
5) goto step 2

Again, welcome to the project!

PS: Do some reading in the:

mersenneforum.org > Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search > Hardware > GPU Computing

to learn more about it.

Do the entries in your worktodo look like this (made up) line ?
Factor=3CDB032B91522C7CCCF2315E7BE54173,334243199,66,67

If so, Prime95 registered them for you.

Do the work that you want to and enjoy. We like Happy Workers.

260M-270M finished August 26th, for another 10M in 16 days. Looking to get to 300M around mid-October...

Default 700M to 800M completed to 65 (at least) bits...

At some point today Monst finished bringing all exponents between 700M and 800M up to (or past) 65 "bits".

Well done Monst!!!

270M-280M finished September 13, for another 10M in 19 days (hmmm summer slowdown?)

Looks like my original estimate is going to be optomistic.

On a similar note monst completed ALL 7xxM to 64 bits a couple days back.

280-290M finished Sept 28 ... only 15 days for this range.

And 290-300 only has 9 ranges to do ... someone grabbed all of 292M.

Could be at 300M by Oct 13 about 4 weeks past my original estimate.
My estimate of getting all remaining LMH exponents to 65 bits by year end is going to need some help.

I'll toss my GPU into this for a bit.

If you're using mfaktc you might want to rebuild mfaktc with MORE_CLASSES disabled for such short-running assignments.

Hello LMH,

here's a version of mfaktc which might be useful for short running assignments: http://www.mersenneforum.org/mfaktc/...essClasses.zip Because I'm no longer bound to the filesize limit in this forum this includes both, Win32 and Win64 executables and the CUDA runtime DLLs.
The only difference to the regular mfaktc version is that the compile option MORE_CLASSES is disabled. Thus there are only 96/420 classes instead of 960/4620. Depending how small the assignments are you might want to lower GridSize in mfaktc.ini, too. (Check runtimes, not the raw rate when comparing different settings!)
Another hint: autotuning SievePrimes might be not optimal for such short running assignments, too. You can try to set it manually in mfaktc.ini.
