My old client stopped downloading new work units last week, so I upgraded. However I cannot seem to get it to work:
./prpclient [2011-04-13 04:10:20 CDT] PRPNet Client application v4.3.0 started [2011-04-13 04:10:20 CDT] User name puh_32 at email address is [not shown] [2011-04-13 04:10:22 CDT] PSPtest: Getting work from server www.psp-project.de at port 7100 [2011-04-13 04:10:22 CDT] PSPtest: No active candidates found on server [2011-04-13 04:10:23 CDT] 5: nothing was received on socket after 1 seconds [2011-04-13 04:10:23 CDT] PSPtest: Getting work from server www.psp-project.de at port 7100 [2011-04-13 04:10:23 CDT] PSPtest: No active candidates found on server [2011-04-13 04:10:24 CDT] 5: nothing was received on socket after 1 seconds [2011-04-13 04:10:24 CDT] www.psp-project.de:7101 connect to socket failed with error 111 [2011-04-13 04:10:24 CDT] Could not connect to any servers and no work is pending. Pausing 10 minutes my server setting: server=PSPtest:100:1:www.psp-project.de:7100 server=PSPtestdc:0:1:www.psp-project.de:7101 What am I doing wrong? All sorts of things, probably. Sorry for potentially stupid question - I just want to continue participating in the project. // puh_32 |

My fault I have still not managed to create a new sticky that clarifies the status.
With the server upgrade in December we let the old 2.7.x server dry out as we were the only project that still used it and it was not compatible with the newer clients. The new server can be found here: First pass server=pspfp:100:1:www.psp-project.de:8100 Second pass server=pspdc:100:1:www.psp-project.de:8101 You need at least a version 3.x client to use these server. About a week ago, my client started doing this:
LOGGED ON LOGGING OUT Successfully connected to server! LOGGED ON LOGGING OUT Successfully connected to server! LOGGED ON LOGGING OUT Successfully connected to server! LOGGED ON LOGGING OUT Successfully connected to server! LOGGED ON I haven't changed anything - or even restarted the client - for a long time. I take it I need to change something in the config? / puh_32 |

I have no clue what happens here.
In the logs I see that your last contact was on the 26.8. The server was not changed in any way so there is no need for a configuration change on the client. Also I see that other clients connect without any problems. So it looks like it is not a problem on the server side. Question: did you make an update on your firewall software or on you router settings? Or maybe you should try and restart the client. Cheers, Lars Last fiddled with by ltd on 2011-09-07 at 07:26 |

Still I have no clue what could be the reason.
There was now even a restart of the server due to some issues on the hardware of the server. No there was never danger to the data. Only some components of the machine running the virtual server had to be replaced. |
