Sure, you should be able to look it up on either the manufacturer's or seller's web site. To pick an example at random : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151099, click on Details, and see this :

1 x Main connector (20+4Pin)
1 x 4+4 Pin EPS 12V
5 x Peripheral
5 x SATA
2 x Floppy
2 x PCI-E

Each is a particular type of connector. The manufacturer's web site shows a similar list, but it is an embedded graphic so I can't cut and paste it here. See the bottom of http://www.seasonicusa.com/NEW_X-series_Fanless.htm.

Graphics cards need the last connector - either one or two depending on the design. And I think you can also convert from the peripheral connector (a 4-pin old-school molex connector) into the PCI-E connector as well - something like e.g. http://www.atxpowersupplies.com/Mole...ss-Adapter.htm is often included with video cards. If not, they're not expensive as you can see from the link.

My solution is to just buy a name-brand 750W supply, and it'll have all that I need. Overkill perhaps, but at least I don't have to worry about it.

Frmky is seconded with the name-brand 750W supply...rodrigo, this is a point where your money will save you some time -- and a moderate over-engineer like this means a) you can upgrade your card later, and b) your system is less susceptible to minor power issues.

The links are very useful, thanks! They give me a better idea of what's involved.

One question, though. About the quote above -- according to the bottom chart on the page for the Seasonic 460W, "the last connector" for the PSU would be the Y-adapter for the floppy disk. Is that right -- one would plug a floppy connector into the graphics card?

I suspect we're not done with this thread, and there's no intention of killing it, but to everybody who's shared their knowledge/experience with PSUs, I want to say how much I appreciate it! May actually take the plunge one of these days.

That makes sense. (Thanks, frmky.) I guess you'd need to look at the inside of the case, too, to make sure that the PSU you're looking at can actually go in there? I mean in terms of size and ways to fix the PSU in place. Or are these aspects pretty standard?

BTW, did you ever get to confirm the PSU wattage for the PC where you had the GT210 ? Just curious.
