Just submitted it to the good professor.

Another one over 500K digits (507918). We are on a serious roll here.
OUSTANDING!! Congrats Ian! This also knocks out k=20049 for bases R4 and R16.

This shatters 2 records for the project:

Largest 3 primes found in 2 days!

4 of the top 5 primes found in 5 days!

Amazing.

Most interesting--a prime (pardon the pun) example of a "prime bunch" there.

Congratulations on an awesome find!

Just to give everyone a heads-up: I will be out of town with semi-limited internet access for the next week at a family reunion. See this post over in the NPLB forum for more details. At the rate we're processing on port 1300, I'd estimate a good chance that it will dry out sometime while I'm away. Since we haven't yet decided on what to do next for this mini-drive, I'm unable to pre-stock the server with adequate work to last out the week; if a decision is reached before 2 AM or so tonight, I should be able to get it loaded before I leave, but otherwise I can't make any promises. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to load the server from my laptop while away, unless the job involves tricky sorting-out of sieve files (like the current base 2 batch did), but it may have to wait until the second half of the week because my laptop will be busy serving another purpose initially. (Long story--actually kind of a humorous one but it's rather too long to put in this decidedly unrelated thread. )

Moved the discussion about a new PRPnet server to a separate thread at http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=15785.

Squeaked in one (likely) last prime before n=2M:

148323*2^1973319-1 is prime!

This knocks out k=148323 for R2 odd-n, and is currently the 3rd largest prime found by CRUS. (And it's far and away my largest personal find! )

Now wouldn't it be really something if we found another one before 2M...

Yea Max. Nice find. Everything seems to come in pairs or triplets lately so there is one or two due.

The drive is complete to n=2M.

Substantial sieving is needed for testing > 2M and there are several additional k's that will be added. It will be a while before such an effort is started.
