That is an accomplishment, for sure. I had sooooo much trouble with the i7-920. It seemed every chip I ever got would run hotter than the devil's oven!

I never got past 3.8 GHz on an i7-920, ever, so I salute your success.

Dear Alex,

We spend $8,000/month on advertising in the "analog world," trust me, these posts are NOT helping us generate revenue, nor were they intended too, lol.

I am running a Core i7-970 3.2 GHz OC slightly to 3.57; water-cooled CPU with an Asetek closed loop system.

I wrote a little console app that should run < 3 minutes on faster hardware. I'm trying to compile benchmark stats for it to compare overclocked systems.

http://www.liquidnitrogenoverclockin...node_count.zip

It generates every legal move for every position from the starting position in the game of checkers, and recursively does so until it has made 7 moves for each side. It does require 64-bit hardware and a 64-bit OS.

Feel free to download it, run it, then let me know of your results (it will create a text file displaying your performance data).

You need to install the appropriate Microsoft C++ redistributable package. IIRC, for msvcr100, it's http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...s.aspx?id=5555 .
