If I have five worker windows running and I want to cut back to four, how do I do that without losing work in progress? If I reduce the value of "worker windows" by one, will the program not get a new assignment when the next worker completes?

Change the number of worker windows to 4, then stop and close Prime95, then open the worktodo.txt file and cut and paste the assignment(s) under [Worker #5] to one of the other workers. Now when that worker gets to that assignment, it will pick up from where worker 5 left off.

Suggest you put it near the top of that thread's queue. Otherwise prime95 may decide that it will take too long to get to that assignment, and unreserve it.

Thanks — it's easy to manage now that I see what to do.

My system has six cores and hyperthreading is off. I am doing manual trial factoring with mfaktc which occupies one core and the GPU. Four are for Prime95 and I am keeping one free so the system stays responsive to my miscellaneous use.
